Hi, my name is Avi :)

Starting therapy can be scary and can feel vulnerable due to the uncertainty of what to expect. You might be looking to feel truly seen and understood. Maybe you’ve spent a long time feeling unseen or misunderstood, and you’re ready for a space where you don’t have to put on a mask, overexplain yourself, or carry everything alone.

My path into counseling grew out of my own experiences of not feeling fully seen. Those early moments shaped something important in me: a desire to help others feel validated, supported, and genuinely heard. At my core, I’m someone who loves sharing what I’ve learned through both life and study. I deeply value authenticity, and I strive to create a therapeutic space where you can reconnect with who you are beneath expectations, coping patterns, and survival roles.

Many of the individuals and couples I work with are navigating anxiety, mood disorders, unresolved trauma, relationship challenges (including polyamory and open relationships), identity exploration, major life transitions, or a relentless inner critic that never seems to quiet down. Often, there’s a sense of being self-aware, understanding your patterns intellectually, yet struggling to shift them emotionally.

In our work together, we focus on developing a deeper awareness of the experiences that shaped you. I approach therapy through a trauma-informed lens, recognizing that many of our current struggles began as intelligent adaptations. Using an Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed perspective, we gently explore the different “parts” of you — especially the ones that developed to protect, achieve, avoid, or self-criticize. I believe healing begins at the root. When we compassionately understand what’s happening beneath the surface, meaningful and lasting change becomes possible.

My approach is integrative, creative, and experiential. I draw from trauma-informed therapy, IFS, mindfulness-based practices, somatic and yoga-informed techniques, and collaborative dialogue to support the mind–body connection. Therapy with me is tailored to you, where it can sometimes be reflective and insight-oriented, sometimes experiential and embodied. Whether we’re working individually or as a couple, the foundation is always safety, trust, and authenticity.

I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Central Florida. I was born in Argentina and raised primarily in the United States, and I’m fluent in both Spanish and English. Living within two cultures has shaped my understanding of identity, belonging, and relational dynamics. I’m also a certified 200-hour yoga teacher and integrate yoga-informed principles into both my personal life and therapeutic work. The philosophy and lifestyle of yoga influence how I approach healing with clients, not just as techniques, but as a way of relating to yourself with greater presence and compassion.

Outside of counseling, I enjoy creative arts, music, dancing, beach days, cooking, continuing to learn, watching movies, spending time in nature, practicing gratitude, and spending time with my pets.

Taking the first step toward therapy takes courage, and I understand that navigating the mental health system isn’t always easy. I hope to offer a space that feels safe and grounded from the very beginning. Wherever you are in your journey, I’m here to meet you there.
