I might be the right therapist for you if...
...you’re craving deep, meaningful change—not quick fixes.
...you’ve done some work already, but still feel stuck or unseen.
...you’re exhausted from people-pleasing, overthinking, or holding it all together.
...you’re grieving, healing trauma, or untangling patterns from emotionally immature parents.
...you want a therapist who’s real, relational, and won’t shy away from the hard stuff.
...you’re curious about EMDR, somatic work, or how your body holds your story.
...you want a space where you don’t have to perform, just be.
Hi, I’m Ashley—welcome.
If you’re here, you’re likely considering the vulnerable step of reaching out for support. I want you to know that just being here is something to be proud of. Healing can feel intimidating, but you don’t have to navigate it alone.
I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Florida and the founder of New Light Counseling, a private therapy practice based in Altamonte Springs. I specialize in trauma-focused therapy and work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, people-pleasing, boundary issues, life transitions, and the emotional wounds of growing up with emotionally immature caregivers. I provide both in-person sessions locally and virtual sessions for Florida residents.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Central Florida and a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. Since 2018, I’ve been deeply committed to expanding my skills and offering therapy that’s not just effective but also deeply human. I’m a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist and have advanced training in EMDR, ERP, and The Gottman Method (Level 1). My approach integrates trauma-informed care, mindfulness, narrative therapy, somatic techniques, and psychoanalytic insight.
Clients often describe me as warm, real, and straightforward. I work relationally, with a style that’s gentle, direct, and grounded. I strive to create a safe and judgment-free space where you can be radically honest—even when it’s uncomfortable. I tailor every treatment plan to the unique needs of each client and bring a flexible, creative mindset to our work together.
I believe that doing my own inner work is essential to supporting others. I'm a therapist who sees a therapist—because healing is ongoing, and I walk the same path I ask my clients to explore.
Outside the therapy room, I’m usually recharging at Disney, shopping or eating at my favorite local spots, caring for my plants, or curled up with a good anime or video game. I also love spending time with my family, pets, and the quiet magic of everyday life.
If you're looking for a trauma therapist in Altamonte Springs—or anywhere in Florida—I’d be honored to support you on your healing journey.
