More Than Therapy: Finding Connection in Our Community

A Little Treat, A Lot of Connection

Wednesday night, our team had the joy of participating in Oviedo Volleyball Academy’s Trunk or Treat! We are so grateful for the opportunity to come together with our local community and meet so many wonderful families.

This year, we embraced a little Halloween magic with a psychic and fortune-telling theme! While we may not be able to predict your future, we believe we can help you find the clarity and confidence to shape it for yourself. We had so much fun sharing fortunes, chatting with kids and teens, and connecting with families throughout the evening. It was a lighthearted way to share something we believe deeply in: we aren't here to tell people what to do or decide their future for them. We're here to help them better understand themselves, explore their possibilities, and recognize the power they have to make their own choices.

At New Light Counseling, we believe that being part of a community means more than simply being an office people come to for clinical support. We believe it means showing up, building relationships, and creating opportunities to connect with the people around us.

After all, what we strive for most in our work is that it feels human.

We value every chance to show up and remind others that therapy doesn't have to be scary or intimidating. Sometimes, it looks like a group of girls who love to dress up, celebrate, and share a little Halloween magic. Other times, it looks like a third space that welcomes you with open arms to create, process, and embrace your inner child.

Because at the heart of what we do is connection. It's creating spaces where people feel comfortable being themselves, where laughter and vulnerability can coexist, and where mental health becomes a conversation that doesn't feel so intimidating.

Sometimes, it starts with a simple conversation, a shared moment, or the feeling that you belong.

We are so thankful to Oviedo Volleyball Academy for welcoming us and creating such a fun event for local families! We loved being part of the festivities and look forward to continuing to find ways to show up, give back, and build meaningful relationships throughout our community.

Whether it's through community events, creative workshops, or simply sharing a conversation, we hope to continue creating opportunities for people to connect with themselves and one another.

Moments like this remind us that we are all part of something bigger than ourselves. Sometimes, even the smallest moments make a lasting impact.
