WHEN YOUR BODY IS HOLDING THE STORY
Your mind says
you're safe -so why does your body still feel like it's not?
You don't have to think your way out of everything. Sometimes healing begins by learning to listen to what your body has been carrying.
You may understand why you react the way you do. You may know your anxiety "doesn't make sense." You may tell yourself to calm down, move on, or stop overthinking—but your body hasn't gotten the message yet.
Stress, trauma, grief, and overwhelming life experiences don't just live in our thoughts. They can show up as a racing heart, muscle tension, exhaustion, stomach issues, feeling disconnected from yourself, or always being on edge without knowing why.
Is Somatic Therapy Right for Me?
Somatic therapy may be a good fit if you've ever thought:
"I know I'm safe, but my body doesn't seem to believe it."
"I understand where this comes from, but I still react the same way."
"I feel anxious all the time, and I don't know why."
"I can't seem to relax—even when everything is okay."
"I feel disconnected from myself, my emotions, or the people around me."
"Talking about it helps, but I feel like something is still stuck."
"I carry stress in my body through tension, headaches, stomach issues, or chronic overwhelm."
"I want a therapy experience that goes beyond just talking."
"I've spent so much time surviving that I don't remember what it feels like to actually feel at ease."
Somatic therapy isn't about forcing your body to change or reliving painful experiences. It's about slowing down, building safety, and learning to work with your nervous system instead of fighting against it. Together, we'll explore the connection between your mind and body—helping you better understand your responses and gently create new patterns that support healing.
HOW WE APPROACH SOMATIC THERAPY
We won't force your
healing.
Healing isn't about forcing yourself to "move on" or convincing your body to stop reacting. It's about creating enough safety that your nervous system no longer feels like it has to stay in survival mode.
Somatic therapy invites us to slow down and pay attention to the messages your body has been sending all along. Together, we'll explore the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations—helping you understand your responses with curiosity instead of judgment.
Nervous System Regulation
01
Learn to recognize your body's stress responses and build practical tools that help you feel more grounded, present, and connected in everyday life. Through body awareness, breathwork, mindfulness, and gentle somatic interventions, we'll help your nervous system learn that it doesn't have to stay in survival mode.
IFS-Informed & Compassion-Focused Work
02
Sometimes the parts of us that feel anxious, overwhelmed, shut down, or hypervigilant aren't problems to get rid of—they're protective responses that developed for a reason. Drawing from Internal Family Systems (IFS), we'll approach these parts with curiosity and compassion, helping you build a more connected and trusting relationship with yourself.
EMDR & Yoga-Informed Interventions
03
When appropriate, we may integrate EMDR and yoga-informed practices to help you process experiences that feel "stuck" while reconnecting with your body in a safe, grounded way. Rather than forcing healing, we work at a pace that honors both your story and your nervous system.
Our work is about helping you reconnect with yourself—building safety, trust, and a way forward that feels grounded, authentic, and true to who you are.
YOU DON'T HAVE TO WALK THROUGH THIS ALONE
We're here to help you reconnect with yourself
When your mind and body don't seem to be on the same page, it can feel exhausting trying to think your way through it. You don't have to force yourself to heal or have all the right words. Together, we'll create a space where you can slow down, feel safe, and reconnect with the parts of yourself that have been waiting to be heard.
