WHEN EVERYTHING FEELS HEAVIER THAN IT SHOULD.

Depression doesn't always look like
giving up.

Depression is more than feeling sad. It can affect the way you think, feel, connect with others, and move through your daily life. When depression starts draining your energy, impacting your relationships, or making it difficult to enjoy things you once cared about, it may be time to reach out for support.

At New Light Counseling, we support individuals navigating depression with warmth, curiosity, and evidence-based care. Whether your depression shows up as sadness, emotional numbness, low motivation, hopelessness, self-criticism, or feeling disconnected from yourself, you're not alone—and it doesn't have to stay this way.

What does depression look like?

  • Persistent sadness or emptiness

  • Feeling emotionally numb or disconnected

  • Loss of interest in activities you once enjoyed

  • Fatigue or low energy, even after resting

  • Difficulty concentrating or making decisions

  • Changes in sleep or appetite

  • Feelings of guilt, shame, or self-criticism

  • Withdrawing from friends, family, or activities

  • Feeling hopeless about the future

  • Struggling to find motivation for everyday tasks

You might not even call it depression—just "burnout," "feeling stuck," or "going through the motions." But deep down, it can feel like you're surviving instead of truly living.

How we treat anxiety

We'll do more than manage symptoms.
We'll help you understand the story beneath them.

Healing from depression isn't one-size-fits-all. Our therapists tailor treatment to your unique experiences, strengths, and goals. Some of the approaches we may use include:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

01

Identify patterns of negative thinking, self-criticism, hopelessness, and avoidance while learning healthier ways to respond to difficult emotions.

Behavioral Activation

02

Depression often causes us to withdraw from the people, activities, and routines that once brought meaning. Learn how to gradually reconnect with life and rebuild a sense of momentum.

Narrative Therapy

03

Explore the stories you carry about yourself, your experiences, and your worth while creating space for new perspectives, meaning, and hope.

Self-Compassion & Acceptance-Based Approaches

04

Develop a kinder relationship with yourself, reduce shame and self-judgment, and learn to navigate difficult emotions with greater flexibility.

Our work is about understanding what's beneath the depression—and helping you reconnect with the parts of yourself that may feel lost, disconnected, or out of reach.

Interpersonal & Relational Work

05

Depression can impact relationships and often grows in isolation. Strengthen connection, improve communication, and explore patterns that may be contributing to emotional pain.

Mindfulness & Nervous System Regulation

06

Learn practical tools to reconnect with the present moment, regulate emotional overwhelm, and create greater balance in daily life.

You don't have to carry this alone

We're here to help you find your way back to yourself.

Depression can be incredibly isolating—and even the idea of reaching out for help can feel exhausting when you're already carrying so much. But here, you'll find compassionate, grounded support from therapists who genuinely care and are ready to meet you where you are.
